DG of Immigration and Citizenship Agency Kicks Off Meeting to Set Up Committee to Strengthen Border Management and Cooperation at Galmudug Ports of Entry

Mogadishu, Somalia — The Director General of the Immigration and Citizenship Agency, Mr. Ahmed Said Mohamed, has inaugurated a key meeting to establish the Inter-agency Coordination Committee for the management and cooperation of ports of entry in Galmudug State. This committee will serve as a collaborative platform for agencies responsible for border security and management.

During the opening remarks, the Director General emphasized the importance of forming this committee to enable joint efforts in bolstering border security, facilitating the lawful movement of people, and supporting legal trade.

He encouraged committee members to strengthen the exchange of data and information and to maintain regular meetings and inspections, ensuring sustained inter-agency cooperation. The committee is expected to play a critical role in addressing security challenges, enhancing communication among agencies, and promoting efficient border management practices.
